Foundation Stone
Aims
- Build and provide an Embedded Systems knowledge base for everyone interested in the subject from novices to experts
- Provide wiki pages, discussion forums and other communication methods to help and guide each other
- More than Wikipedia will allow, much more free, helpful and inclusive
How
- This is a collaborative effort, everyone can help, even if it's just a little knowledge or simple question
- People ask questions and discuss issues in the forums, when a conclusion is reached then make a new wiki entry or page update
What
- There are many aspects of embedded systems and many ways of creating them, we want to capture them
- There are many design methods, good practices, algorithms, code snippets, concepts, etc that will mean better, more reliable system design - we want to capture them
- There are also many gotchas and quirks that many people have spent a lot of time debugging, we want to capture them so other people can quickly fix similar issues
- Evaluations, reviews and comparisons of different products: microcontrollers, development systems, operating systems, design methods, etc.
When
- Please get involved now and in to the future, it's going to take time and a lot of people!
To Do
- Before we accept any content we need to decide on the Contributed Content Copyright. A Creative Commons copyright for info? Maybe free for code snippets?
- Aims
- Basic web-site structure
- Basic rules for contributors - how to use the structure, copyright acceptance, ensure contributor has the right to publish under the site copyright, no flame-wars, etc. Here are some other wiki sites:
- Logo! We need a good logo
- Suggestion and brainstorm forum, voting, etc.
